Tamatar da shorba




Ingredients:

4 medium sized tomatoes blanched
3-4 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp asafoetida
1 tsp red chili powder
A pinch of sugar
Salt
Coriander for garnishing


Preparation:


  1. Remove seeds from the blanched tomatoes with garlic pods and make a thick puree in mixer.
  2. Heat oil in a wok. 
  3. Add cumin seeds to the oil followed by asafoetida.
  4. Add the thick tomato puree and red chili powder.
  5. Give it a nice stir. Add little water or vegetable stock if required.
  6. Add salt and sugar as per taste.
  7. Garnish with fresh chopped coriander.
  8. Serve hot!
